ABOUT
Henri Poilevey is a composer, keyboardist, and music teacher based in Chicago. He writes music for piano, organ, choir, and chamber ensemble. He has also released five albums of songs in his chamber pop solo project The Carmelittles, which was active from 2020 to 2025, and fronted the dream pop band Wallpaper Window. He is a dedicated music teacher, teaching piano at Concordia University Chicago. On his blog The Little Tetramorph, he writes essays on art and spirituality, poems, and film reviews.
Currently, he is working on two musicals: a "sci-fi opera for melancholic boys" based on Kenji Miyazawa's Night on the Galactic Railroad; as well as The Goose Of Christ, a Christmas musical based entirely on texts from Mother Goose. He is also composing four piano "winter nocturnes" based on the work of the French Symbolist artists.
